Today we meet Sherri Provencal, Media Sales Specialist at the St. Albert Gazette and St. Albert TODAY.
Sherri has been in advertising for 25 years, including running her own business, Uni Custom Advertising, for 21 of those years. After she sold her company, an opportunity opened with Great West Newspapers. She said yes because, “I like sales!”
What is one cool fact that most people don’t know about you?
I am a big talker! And I am pretty sensitive. Sitting in the quiet outside grounds and detoxifies the negative from me.
That’s a great detox strategy. What scares you the most?
Bugs and anything creepy crawly… uggghhh!
No judgement here! Bugs and spiders are terrifying! Moving on to a less scary topic, what are your top three movies?
I love action movies. Olympus Has Fallen (anything with Gerard Butler), and anything Bond, just not with Daniel Craig. I don’t like him as Bond! Any of the Fast & Furious films… love them.
What’s on your playlist?
A big mix!! Country, pop, old rock and roll, and good old Abba!
Nice mix! Okay, now for a tough choice: you can only choose one – a finicky cactus, a playful cat, or a newborn puppy?
A newborn puppy!
That was too easy! What do you like best about your job?
I love being around people. I am a people pleaser!
What advice would you give your younger self?
You will never be able to make everyone happy and you cannot help anyone that does not want to help themselves. Always remember, life is short… be happy!
Based on your experience in the field, what is your best advice for any company looking to take their business to the next level with digital advertising?
Being seen matters. Digital is fast and can hit so many different places all at one time. With digital, you can better target your audience.
