Today we meet Roberta Blake, Media Sales Specialist for the St. Albert Gazette and St. Albert TODAY.
Unlike many people who embrace the oddity that is an oily fruit with the world’s hardest-to-remove-seed, Roberta would gladly give up avocados for life. When she’s not giving avocados the side eye, she’s out on her motorcycle enjoying the wind in her hair, or some down time with her girls.

What scares you the most?
The loss of one of my children. Like any mother, my girls are my life. On the lighter side, moths. Nothing makes me cringe more than a front door light at night surrounded by a swarm of those winged demons.
What soothing music helps you forget that winged demons are lurking at the front door?
Old Dominion, Ozzy Ozbourne, BeBe Rexa, Chainsmokers, Maroon 5, Morgan Wallen, Post Malone, Daddy Yankee… I listen to it all!
What drew you to a career in media sales?
I have been in sales for many years and selling print advertising came naturally to me. It was a natural transition for me from print to media and digital marketing sales.
What do you love about your job?
My passion is in meeting new clients and learning about their business. By understanding their current marketing, business goals, and how they measure success, I will develop and present a wholistic marketing strategy. This strategy can be created from the ground up or be integrated into an existing marketing plan. I have worked with clients of all sizes and needs, and my goal is for us to be successful together.
What is one thing everyone should know about digital advertising?
There is no silver bullet. Each marketing challenge requires a different combination of solutions. Through data collection and conversion tracking, digital advertising can be measured and optimized over time to continually improve ROI.
